Ipsen highlights business strategy for next decade
Ipsen is publishing a comprehensive review of its new corporate strategy for the coming years to coincide with the company's Strategy Day.
The pharmaceutical firm is aiming to more than double its 2010 rate of revenue by 2020, while tripling its earnings before interest and taxes.
To achieve this, Ipsen will be increasing its research and development focus in the promising field of peptide and toxin-based technological platforms, while basing its activities on a "proof-of-concept machine".
Other measures outlined by the firm include a new focus on four market-oriented franchises, renewed investment in growing global regions and the appointment of seven new executive vice-presidents.
Marc de Garidel, chairman and chief executive officer of Ipsen, said: "Our ambition is to become a world leader in the treatment of targeted debilitating diseases."
Last month, the company announced the appointment of Etienne de Blois as its new executive vice-president of human resources, replacing the recently departed Frederic Babin.
