Ivoclar Vivadent launch new dental alloy
Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the launch of a new dental alloy, named Callisto CP+.
Containing palladium and cobalt-based ceramic alloy, the product is said to be characterised by its low density.
It is also said to hold a wide range of indications and applications, whilst holding a high amount of strength.
Product manager of Alloys at Ivoclar Vivadent, Manfred Tauber, said: “The commodity prices are still at a high level. The difficult situation has taken a toll also on the dental alloy market. In many cases, the purchase prices increase while the selling price remains unchanged.”
Mr Tauber added that the company would like to adjust to the current market situation, adding that the alloy is aimed to be sold at a purchase price for dentists and dental technicians.
The indications of Callisto CP+ are set to range from single-tooth restorations to long-span bridges, with the alloy additionally allowing for implant superstructures to be fabricated and used for the press technique.
In other news, Ivoclar Vivadent announced in the end of October that it had extended its current range of investment rings with the IPS Investment Ring System 300g.
The company said its decision to extend the range with a larger system followed feedback by users.
