Ivoclar Vivadent launches Callisto 84 and 86 alloys

4th April 2012

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the launch of Callisto 84 and 86, a pair of new high-gold ceramic alloys for dental applications.

The affordable alloys have been designed to offer a lower density than similar products, meaning less of the material needs to be used when fabricating a unit.

It means that the alloy is associated with lower absolute costs, while retaining strong melting and casting properties, a warm golden colour, outstanding bond strength values for metal-ceramic materials and straightforward handling and processing.

The indication range of Callisto 84 and 86 includes crowns, inlays and onlays, as well as short and long-span bridges.

"Users are often finding it difficult to offer their patients an alternative to high-priced gold alloys. Callisto 84 and 86 are … are attractively priced and yet yield high-quality esthetic results," said the manufacturer.

Last month, the company published a report highlighting the benefits its IPS e.max all-ceramic restorative system can provide, collating a decade's worth of positive clinical data.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801333955-ADNFCR
