Ivoclar Vivadent launches OptraStick

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the launch of its OptraStick product, its successor to the VivaStick application instrument.

The company said the new device will allow dental technicians and dentist to easily handle indirect restorations.

“It is very difficult to pick up, position and precisely place expensive restoration materials,” the company said.

It added that the OptraStick facilitates simpler handling of smaller parts with delicate materials.

Ivoclar Vivadent said the OptraStick is made of plastic with a flexible adhesive tip to aid dental work with ceramic inlays and onlays, as well as IPS e.max and IPS Empress veneers.

The firm predicted that the use of the OptraStick would greatly enhance the course of clinical treatment.

Last month Ivoclar Vivadent won an honourable mention for its bluephase high-performance LED curing light at the red dot design awards in the product design category.

This was the third accolade this product has won since the launch in 2004.
