Ivoclar Vivadent partners Straumann
Ivoclar Vivadent’s high-performance IPS e.max ceramic technology will be used by Swiss dental implant maker Straumann.
Under the terms of a recently announced partnership, the two companies will work together to provide aesthetic solutions for tooth replacement and restoration.
The former’s equipment will be used in the latter’s dental prosthetic remedies and the first combined product ? the Straumann Anatomic IPS e.max Abutment ? will be available in Europe next month.
By the end of the year, a range of Straumann CAD/CAM products in IPS e.max lithium disilicate ceramics will also be launched.
Ivoclar Vivadent announced this week that 2008 had been a successful year for the company, adding it will continue to increase its market share over the next 12 months.
Worldwide sales grew by seven per cent and the chief executive officer of the dental material systems manufacturer Robert Ganley commented the success was a result of a “clear and effective vision of the market trends, customer driven and market leading innovation and the passionate dedication of 2,200 employees around the dental world”.
