Johnson and Johnson publishes CSR report

Johnson and Johnson has announced the publication of a new report on how it fared in its sustainability goals last year.

The healthcare product developer published its Johnson and Johnson 2008 Sustainability Report this week, marking the sixth year that it has monitored its performance against corporate social responsibility (CSR) targets.

In compiling the study, consideration was given to the Global Reporting Initiative’s 2006 sustainability reporting guidelines, the company explained.

William C Weldon, chairman of the board of directors and chief executive of Johnson and Johnson, said that the company does not see CSR as “a set of add-ons” but as an intrinsic part of how the firm operates.

“Our mission is reflected in the way we run our businesses around the world, every day,” he explained in a statement.

Recent products developed by Johnson and Johnson include Listerine Total Care mouthwash, which the company claims provides six health benefits in one oral solution.
