Karl Storz invests in Dundee site

24th March 2014

Karl Storz, the medical equipment manufacturer, has invested 1.7 million pounds to triple the size of its base in Dundee.

The endoscopy specialist explained the funds will be used to buy new equipment and services at the company's refurbished and extended office.

Owner of Karl Storz Sybill Storz flew in from Germany to open the redesigned building by unveiling a plaque at the launch.

Dundee-based finance director David McArthur told The Courier the expansion would allow the UK arm of Karl Storz to recruit more workers and boost the range of demonstration, service and decontamination activities it offers.

He said: "We're looking at investing in decontamination machinery. That will be further investment, but we've got the room and space to bring in these machines now that the work is complete."

The extension of the plant was aided by a 170,000 pounds regional selective assistance grant from Scottish Enterprise.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801705930-ADNFCR
