Karl Storz unveils new integrated operating room interface system

Karl Storz is to launch a new integrated interface system designed to provide operating room clinicians with more intuitive control over their working environment.

The company’s newly-unveiled OR1 Neo system is designed as an advancement of its established OR1 interface and allows healthcare professionals to control the entire operating room with a touchscreen-based remote device.

It stated that the product will be easy to use for those already accustomed to the previous OR1 device, with simple controls and colours optimised for the lighting conditions of the operating theatre.

The unit will also incorporate a wider range of safety measures, such as a surgical precaution checklist, which will help to reduce the likelihood of human error and improve the quality of care.

Karl Storz said: “Patients and their optimal treatment have always been a core focus of all Karl Storz designs.”

In total, the medical technology company’s product range encompasses more than 8,000 products and includes offerings in fields such as neuro-endoscopy and cardiovascular surgery.
