Ketchum Pleon appoints digital healthcare strategist
Ketchum Pleon has appointed Andrew Lamb as its new digital strategist for healthcare, as it seeks to improve its expertise in the digital sector.
Mr Lamb is the former digital leader at Ogilvy Healthworld Medical Education, where he worked on projects for key pharmaceutical clients such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Roche, Boehringer Ingelheim and AstraZeneca.
In his new role, he will apply his industry knowledge to help enhance the communications capabilities of healthcare sector companies for Ketchum Pleon's PR team and its medical education unit Inspired Science.
Amanda Sefton, managing director for healthcare at Ketchum Pleon London, said the move reflects the growing importance of digital tools such as smartphones and social networks in the healthcare sector.
She added: "The stringent regulatory and ethical demands of the healthcare industry make a deep understanding of the various constraints and best practices in this arena essential."
Earlier this year, the company won a PRWeek award for a campaign to promote the benefits of obesity surgery for client Allergan, in association with the Royal College of Surgeons.
