Kimal and Actuated Medical agree distribution deal
Kimal has agreed a deal to distribute Actuated Medical's occlusion clearing system TubeClear in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The device, which has been approved for sale in both the US and Europe, is designed for use in clearing patient feeding and decompression tubes, using proprietary mechanical motion technology from Actuated Medical.
It was created, developed and manufactured in the US by Actuated Medical and comprises a reusable control box unit and single-use clearing stems.
In addition to this distribution arrangement, Kimal's chief executive officer Alan Press has also agreed to join Actuated Medical's board of directors, strengthening the partnership between the two firms.
Dr Maureen Mulvihill, president of Actuated Medical, said: "We are thrilled to partner with a quality organisation like Kimal … This system will speed the process of unclogging tubes, save healthcare organisations significant money and ultimately improve clinical care."
Kimal will be presenting a number of new products at the forthcoming Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe annual congress in September 2012, including the Altius central venous catheters and Celt femoral artery closure device.
