Kimal makes haemodialysis “truly user-friendly”

Kimal has made haemodialysis “truly user-friendly” with the NxStage System Onehome medical device, according to its corporate marketing manager.

Ken Findlay made his comments as the Lister Hospital in Stevenage became the first hospital in the UK to take delivery of one of the machines.

He explained that the offering will help to meet the government’s agenda for treatment in the home, noting that new technology has been used to reduce the size of the dialysis equipment to that of a tabletop sewing machine or portable television.

In addition, the NxStage System Onehome is capable of converting ordinary tap water into the essential liquid dialysate that is required to perform the treatment, “thus making the whole process truly user-friendly,” Mr Findlay noted.

“This equipment will allow many patients to literally claim back days of quality time which are currently spent visiting the dialysis centre,” he concluded.

In recent weeks, Kimal announced the appointment of Mark Pettitt to the position of managing director.
