Kimberley-Clark leased space by ProLogis

Kimberley-Clark has been leased 750,500 square feet of space by ProLogis.

The company’s occupation at Prologis Park 55 near Chicago, US, marks the third lease agreement between the two companies and means that Kimberley-Clark occupies approximately 1.6 million square feet in various locations across North America.

Doug Kiersey, senior vice president and Midwest regional director for ProLogis, said that the lease agreement is one of the largest in the US this year.

He added: “We are pleased to extend our business relationship with Kimberly-Clark and improve our overall leased percentage in the greater Chicago market to 92 per cent.”

The news follows Kimberley-Clark’s agreement with Compañía Colombiana de Inversiones and other related businesses to purchase the remaining approximate 31 per cent of shares of Colombiana Kimberly Colpapel, the company’s Andean region subsidiary.

Based in Bogota, Colombia, Colombiana Kimberly Colpapel is a manufacturer and marketer of personal care products and consumer tissue, alongside selling K-C professional products.

Employing more than 55,00 people around the world, Kimberley-Clark is based in Dallas, Texas and has operations in 37 countries.

The company posted sales of $18.3 billion in 2007 (12.3 billion pounds) and its brands include Kleenex, Huggies, Andrex, Kotex and Scott.
