Kimberly-Clark expresses satisfaction with Q2 2012 performance
Kimberly-Clark has published its financial results for the second quarter of 2012, describing its performance for the period as "very good".
Net sales for the three months came to $5.3 billion (3.4 billion pounds), which was even with the year-ago period, while organic sales grew by five percent thanks to increased selling prices and sales volumes.
Excellent performance from the company's K-C International division led this strong performance, while the launch of several innovative new products and strategic marketing initiatives also contributed.
Last month, it launched the Poise Feminine Wellness line in North America, a pioneering new consumer product range aimed specifically at menopausal women.
The company has now raised its full-year expectations for organic sales growth, cost savings and adjusted earnings per share, thanks to the momentum seen in the first half of 2012.
Chairman and chief executive officer Thomas Falk said: "We continue to believe that execution of our global business plan in 2012 and beyond will lead to strong returns to shareholders."
