Kimberly-Clark launches new Aero Blue surgical gown
Kimberly-Clark has announced the launch of its Aero Blue performance surgical gown, a new product for clinicians working in operating rooms.
In head-to-head fluid resistance tests, the soft, lightweight gown has been shown to deliver four times greater fluid protection than other non-reinforced gowns in the same category, with two times better protection than fabric-reinforced gowns.
Made using a proprietary fabric, the gown is also optimised for maximum comfort, allowing moisture vapor to pass through the material and featuring a highly breathable back panel to maximise air flow. Meanwhile, its copolymer technology provides softness and a flexible fit to give wearers a full range of motion.
Alex Hodges, general manager for surgical and infection prevention at Kimberly-Clark Health Care, said: "With much higher fluid protection and unmatched comfort, Aero Blue represents a significant innovation in perioperative protection."
The firm is currently planning to spin off its healthcare business as an independent organisation. This will occur later this year, with the new organisation to be called Halyard Health and led by Robert Abernathy.
