Kimberly-Clark sees further growth in 2011
Kimberly-Clark has experienced a six percent year-over-year increase in sales for 2011, amounting to a total of $20.8 billion (13.17 billion pounds).
The figure was achieved following organic sales improvements in the fourth quarter of the year, thanks to higher sales volumes and net selling prices, with the K-C International division showing a particularly strong performance.
Its personal care business segment once again accounted for the majority of sales during the year, although it was the healthcare unit that saw the most pronounced year-on-year sales increase at ten percent.
Kimberly-Clark is expecting modest growth of up to one percent in 2012, as the overall economic conditions remain challenging.
Chairman and chief executive officer Thomas Falk said: "Nonetheless, we plan to deliver improved growth in adjusted earnings per share in 2012 compared to our 2011 performance while we further improve our company for the long term."
Recently, the company was named medical device company of the year at the PM360 Trailblazer Awards, thanks to its strong performance in terms of talent development, social responsibility and innovation in marketing.
