Kimberly-Clark sees organic growth during 2013

27th January 2014

Kimberly-Clark has published its financial results for the 2013 business year, during which it generated a sales total of $5.3 billion (3.2 billion pounds).

This was roughly even with last year's figure, while organic sales rose by five percent year on year and sales volume increased by four percent. These improvements were offset by European strategic changes and pulp and tissue restructuring actions.

During the final quarter of the year, the firm was able to execute a number of strategic moves, including the announcement of the decision to pursue a tax-free spinoff of its healthcare business. This is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2014.

Organic sales growth of between three and five percent has been predicted for the year to come.

Chairman and chief executive officer Thomas Falk said: "While we expect significant currency headwinds and higher commodity costs this year, we plan to deliver solid bottom-line growth. We remain optimistic about our prospects to drive profitable growth and generate attractive returns to shareholders."

Last month, the company announced it will be providing funding support of $50,000 for a Unicef-organised hygiene project, following a consumer vote.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801686612-ADNFCR
