Kimberly-Clark sees sales advance in third quarter of 2010
Kimberly-Clark has published its financial report for the third quarter of 2010, a period which saw the firm experience a 1.3 percent year-on-year sales growth.
The health and personal care firm's net sales total for the three-month period came to $5 billion (3.1 billion pounds), with upward trends in organic sales and volumes noted.
Its personal care division saw the biggest year-over-year improvement at 2.4 percent, thanks to the strong performance of feminine care products, baby wipes and nappies in various territories.
Healthcare products and consumer tissue sales also increased compared to Q3 2009, which served to offset the challenging conditions faced by the K-C Professional business unit.
Thomas Falk, chairman and chief executive officer of Kimberly-Clark, said: "I'm encouraged with our market positions and believe that we are doing the right things for the long-term success of our brands and our company."
This builds on the success experienced by Kimberly-Clark in the second quarter of 2010, in which the company's sales grew by three percent year-on-year.
