Kruuse welcomes Henry Schein as new majority shareholder

24th June 2015

Kruuse has announced that US healthcare giant Henry Schein has acquired a majority shareholding in the company.

The firms have been partnering on the marketing and distribution of products for the animal healthcare sector for a number of years, and this relationship will grow closer following Henry Schein's purchase of an 85 percent stake in Kruuse.

Meanwhile, the remaining 15 percent share will be retained by the Kruuse family, who will continue to have a say in the company's direction. It will position the organisation well to accelerate growth and expand its presence in global markets.

Its operational team will continue with Jesper Smith as chief executive officer, with its activities to remain led from the head office in Langeskov. Its future board of directors will include the new chairman Peter McCarthy, president of Henry Schein's global animal health unit.

Jesper Smith, chief executive officer of Kruuse, said: "It is very important to us that we and our new owner have a mutual understanding of the values and customer-centric focus on quality and services which have guided us throughout Kruuse's 119-year history."

Henry Schein's animal health business will expand to 23 countries following this deal.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801792253-ADNFCR
