Lab Innovations Host Speakers Steve Rannard and Alok Jha

This year Lab Innovations will host two main speakers. The first will be Dr. Steve Rannard, a distinguished scholar, who will present on Wednesday 2nd. The second is Alok Jha, author at the Economist, who will discuss Water Chemistry the next day.

Jha is currently the author of The Economist’s weekly science piece, Babbage. He has written many books covering various aspects of science and was formerly positioned at both ITV and the Guardian.

In addition to having industrial lectureships at both Strathclyde and Sussex university, Steve Rannard currently has a post at the University of Liverpool. He has engaged in consultancy roles for several industrial businesses and engaged in corporate realignment in the form of co-founding two spinouts. His current research concentrates on particle technologies in the creation of pharmaceuticals.

Additionally, on November 2nd in the Innovations and Insight Theatre, 33 contestants will participate in nine of ten classes for the Lab Awards. Mettler Toledo is the sponsor with support in each class from Innovate UK, Kimtech, MiCo BioMed and Red Swan Partner.
