Lab21 agrees new product distribution deal with Quidel

19th February 2014

Lab21 has announced an expansion to its existing product distribution agreement with Quidel through its subsidiary, Microgen Bioproducts.

The new deal will see Lab21 making AnDiaTec's line of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests available to customers in the UK. This includes tests that aid in the diagnosis of infectious diseases such as norovirus, enterovirus, Epstein Barr virus, herpes simplex, varicella-zoster virus, chlamydia and mycobacterium tuberculosis.

It builds on a previous agreement that currently sees Lab21 distributing the QuickVue product range in the UK, including rapid diagnostic tools for chlamydia, H pylori, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, streptococcus and pregnancy.

Through this new agreement, the company can bolster its reputation as a leading UK provider of tests for infectious diseases.

Graham Mullis, CEO of Lab21, commented: “This deal will further expand the range of products we are able to offer, strengthening our position as experts in the provision of clinical diagnostics."

Lab21 is a rapidly growing healthcare diagnostics business with three UK-based facilities and a US office. It is the UK market leader for companion diagnostics for patients who need a specific test before treatment and therapy is administered.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801695412-ADNFCR
