LabGenius Makes Two New Hires

24th April 2023

LabGenius is a key player when it comes to using automation and AI for the identification of novel therapeutic antibodies. They have recently revealed 2 new hires.

The first is Professor Arkenau, who presently holds a position at Ellipses Pharma as their Chief Medical Officer and International Lead of Pharmaceutical Development.

Before coming into the pharmaceutical field, he was part of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, directing the development of many innovative cancer treatments as their Executive Medical Lead.

His new role at LabGenius involves carving out a scientific strategy for its’ portfolio of immune-cell engagers, which have leading killing selectivity capabilities.

Professor Arkenau said that he is “proud to work alongside LabGenius as they use their platform’s predictive power to identify non-intuitive antibody designs that perform well across multiple therapeutically valuable properties, including selective killing.”

The second hire is Professor Greiff from the University of Oslo. His team there specialises in immune receptor-based immunodiagnostics and Immunotherapeutics, creating machine learning, calculating and experimental equipment for studying T-cell and antibody varieties in order to aid in their digital design.

Professor Greiff’s expertise will support LabGenius’ attempts to build its platform and further optimise its antibody discovery methods.

He explained that “ML models are only as good as the data they’re trained on, so LabGenius’ focus on generating large amounts of disease-relevant proprietary data using functional cell-based assays is incredibly powerful.”
