Laborie announces takeover of Buck

20th June 2014

Laborie has agreed a deal to acquire Buck, a German developer of medical technology for treating pelvic floor dysfunction among urinary and faecal incontinence patients.

The takeover encompasses Buck Elektromedizin and Buckmeditec, which develop and distribute a wide range of innovative and advanced biofeedback and electrical stimulation equipment, accessories and consumables.

With this acquisition, Laborie will further extend its market leadership in the pelvic muscle rehabilitation field, while also expanding its presence in the German market by adding 15 in-country sales representatives.

Both companies have complementary goals, in terms of their shared commitment to helping healthcare professionals deliver better products and services, while enhancing quality of life for patients.

Brian Ellacott, Laborie's president and chief executive officer, said: "By combining existing product lines with Buck's extensive customer base, we can provide a greater breadth of innovative products and services to enable German urologists to deliver better care to their patients."

This comes after the firm completed the takeover of Mediwatch, a medical technology firm founded in the UK, earlier this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801729813-ADNFCR
