Lawsuit in Uzbekistan Over 65 Fatalities in Children Connected to Cough Medicine

Only 20 deaths associated with the medications manufactured by Marion Biotech had been originally documented.

According to an announcement from Uzbekistan’s Supreme Court, the twenty-one defendants are previous senior officials, who were responsible for the approval of purchased medications, as well as managers of the private organisation that acquired and sold them.

They face charges including evading taxes, marketing inadequate or fake medications, misusing their positions of authority, carelessness, fabricating documents, and corruption.

The production authorisation of Marion Biotech was revoked by the Indian regulator, and workers were detained.
