Leica Microsystems presents application for dirt particle analysis

Leica Microsystems has created a further development of its system solution – Leica QClean – for particle analysis.

In addition to the software, the package also includes a colour digital camera and the automated industrial microscope Leica DM6000 M.

According to the firm, the new system is intended particularly for measurements of residual dirt on automotive components.

The software is designed for cleanliness analysis if micromechanic apparatus such as brake components and high-pressure injection pumps and identifies the quantity and size of dirt particles present on such products, the company asserts.

Other machinery suitable for residual dirt analysis by the system includes motors, camshafts, crankshafts and gearings, Leica reports.

And the system also features the ability to archive all data, allowing it to be stored and traced if required.

Earlier this month, the firm announced that it has acquired the rights to sell the products for former Vision BioSystems in Sweden.
