Lilly and Boehringer Ingelheim to showcase diabetes drug data
Lilly and Boehringer Ingelheim have announced that they will be presenting new clinical data on several diabetes compounds at a medical conference this month.
The companies will attend the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions in San Diego, where they will conduct a total of 27 presentations relating to a variety of investigational drugs.
Among them will be several talks showcasing results from phase III studies of linagliptin, which is marketed under the trade name Tradjenta and was recently approved by US healthcare regulators.
The presentations will outline the drug's safety and efficacy among various patient groups, including those with renal impairments, diabetes mellitus, poor glycaemic control or high cardiovascular risk.
Meanwhile, further data will be offered from early-stage studies of BI-10773, an investigational sodium glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor treatment.
Lilly and Boehringer Ingelheim have been working in tandem on the development of various diabetes drugs since the announcement of their new collaborative partnership in January 2011.
