Lilly elects new member to board of directors
Lilly has announced the election of Jackson Tai as the newest member of its board of directors, effective as of November 1st 2013.
Mr Tai is the former vice-chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank, while he currently serves as a non-executive director for the Bank of China, Singapore Airlines, NYSE Euronext, MasterCard and Philips.
He has lived and worked in Japan and Singapore for almost 15 years and has a deep understanding of the Asia-Pacific region, which will prove useful to Lilly as it continues to pursue growth in this region.
Dr John Lechleiter, Lilly's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said: "Mr Tai brings to the Lilly board extensive experience in international business and finance, including serving as the CEO of a major multinational financial institution and as a board member of several leading global companies."
This comes after Lilly also elected Dr Marschall Runge – executive dean for the school of medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – to its board at the start of last month.
