Lilly names new member of board of directors

Lilly has announced the appointment of Juan Luciano as the newest member of its board of directors.

Mr Luciano is chief executive officer and president of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and a member of its board. He joined ADM in 2011 as executive vice-president and chief operating officer, becoming president in February 2014 and chief executive in January of this year.

During his time at the company, he has has overseen the commercial and production activities of its corn, oilseeds and agricultural services businesses, as well as its research, project management, procurement and risk management functions.

He has also led ADM's operational excellence initiatives, which seek to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as spearheading efforts to improve capital, cost and cash positions.

Dr John Lechleiter, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Lilly, said: "Juan brings to the Lilly board a global perspective and a proven track record of leading high-performance, results-focused organisations."

The company also confirmed this week that it will be publishing its financial results for 2015 on January 28th 2016.
