Lilly names new senior oncology leader

Lilly has announced the appointment of Dr Levi Garraway as senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs for its oncology division, effective from January 1st 2017.

Dr Garraway is currently associate professor of medicine at the department of medical oncology of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, as well as serving as an associate physician at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and a member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

He is the author of nearly 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has received numerous awards for his work, including the Paul Marks Prize for Cancer Research, the Jane Cooke Wright Award and the New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health.

Dr Garraway has been appointed as the successor to Dr Richard Gaynor, who is retiring from Lilly after a distinguished career.
