Lomb appoints new chief financial officer
Bausch & Lomb has appointed Brian J Harris as chief financial officer and corporate vice-president.
As well as bringing monetary expertise to the firm, he will also be able to provide the insights of a “seasoned executive” who has experience of working in Europe, Asia and the US, asserted the eye health company’s chairman and chief executive officer Gerald M Ostrov.
Since 1989, Mr Harris has worked at the industrial, automotive, building products and engineering manufacturing business Tomkins, where he was appointed a number of positions increasing in responsibility.
Mr Ostrov commented: “We expect him to immediately contribute to the company as we focus on driving profitable long-term growth.”
The latest addition to Bausch & Lomb’s workforce will start in his new role straight away and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Rochester.
Last week, the company’s Sight Savers pre-moistened lens cleansing tissues had met Colts laboratories requirements in tests which related to cleaning and abrasion.
Products 8574GM, 1504GM, 1502GM, and 1602 were all certified and strategic business manager for the firm’s vision accessories department Steven Kelly said the recognition should set them apart from other products on the market.
