Bausch & Lomb has appointed a new senior vice president to take charge of its customer service and IT activities.
Alan Farnsworth, who has been president of the pharmacy supply firm’s European, Middle East and African operations since 2001, will also become its chief information officer going forward.
Mr Farnsworth’s remit will see him made responsible for making sure customer service processes run as smoothly as possible and that IT technology is used as part of global development strategy across the business.
“As we develop the company for sustained growth, harnessing and sharing knowledge for the benefit of our customers and teams is crucial,” said the company’s chairman and chief executive Gerald Ostrov.
“We are thrilled that Alan will bring his passion and skills to this new challenge.”
Earlier this year, Bausch & Lomb put Joseph Barr in charge of its clinical and medical professional services activities worldwide.
