London Named AI Capital of Europe

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, wants to make London a world-leading Smart City. To that end he has commissioned a report by the AI advice platform CognitionX called “London: The AI Growth Capital of Europe” that details the complexity of London’s artificial intelligence ecosystem and how it can unlock innovation and investment in London to maximise the economic opportunities.
The report has found that London has 758 AI companies specialising in over 30 industries like insurance, finance and law, and 85% of those companies have a headquarters in London. Paris and Berlin have just half that number of AI companies put together.
The mayor will unveil his ‘Smarter London Together’ plan during London Tech Week which will host more than 200 events and 50,000 delegates from all over the world. He hopes his plan will make London a world-leading Smart City and demonstrate London as the global technology hub capital of Europe.
