Lundbeck selects new female senior vice-president for legal

Lundbeck has appointed long-term employee Mette Carlstedt to be its new senior vice-president for legal.

Ms Carlstedt has worked to develop the pharmaceutical company’s corporate law activities for ten years and has helped to establish quality standards for its research and sales activities.

In her new role, she will report directly to Lundbeck chief executive officer Ulf Wiinberg and becomes the most senior woman to be employed by the company.

Teddy Hebo Larsen, vice-president of human resources at Lundbeck, described Ms Carlstedt as a “major asset” and praised the work done by female employees such as herself.

He said: “Lundbeck is definitely interested in having more women in top posts. Fortunately, many women already have top jobs all around the Lundbeck world.”

Earlier this month, the company published its financial breakdown for the 2009 fiscal year, reporting signs of growth across all regions and forecasting further improvements in the coming year.
