Lundbeck Serdolect application action letter not received

Lundbeck has still not received a letter of action regarding the new drug application for one of its latest products.

Serdolect (sertindole) has been developed using the company’s in-house research and is said to have a unique neuropharmaceutical profile for the treatment of schizophrenia.

The letter was expected on May 15th but Lundbeck confirmed today (May 18th) it had not taken delivery of the paperwork.

However, the Food and Drug Administration has said that the company will receive it as soon as possible.

The NHS classifies schizophrenia as one of the most common serious mental health conditions.

Sufferers, which are thought to number about one in 100, can experience episodes of disorder and dysfunction.

They are not necessarily violent, although this is a popular misconception. Some of the symptoms include delusions and hallucinations, which are referred to as markers of psychosis – when someone is unable to recognise the difference between their imagination and reality.
