Malvern expert contributes to new Handbook of Nutraceuticals

Malvern Instruments has highlighted the role played by its strategic technology group manager Dr Samiul Amin in the creation of the latest Handbook of Nutraceuticals.

Dr Amin collaborated with Dr Krassimir Velikov from Unilever to write a chapter called Rheology of Complex Fluids Containing Nutraceuticals in the handbook, which has been made available online after debuting in May 2011.

An expert in the rheology and microstructure of complex and nanostructured fluids, Dr Amin contributed his knowledge to offer guidance to industry professionals in this area.

The group manager noted that Malvern is also heavily involved in this field, offering products such as the Kinexus rheometer, which can be used for a wide range of rheology-associated applications.

"I was very pleased to be asked to contribute to this new book and it's great to have access to the finished product after the many months of hard work," said Dr Amin.

This week, the company won praise from partner Dow Corning, which has been able to extract extensive performance benefits since installing one of Malvern's Viscotek TDAmax gel permeation chromatography systems.
