Marshall Products cancelled ERC Congress trip due to snow
Marshall Products had to scrap its visit to last week's European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Congress in Portugal due to the extreme weather conditions.
The company issued a statement revealing representatives had been due to travel from Gatwick to Porto on December 1st, but were forced to cancel the trip after all services from the airport were grounded.
Gatwick was hit particularly hard by the heavy snowfall last week, with the wintry conditions resulting in a two-day shutdown and the cancellation of hundreds of flights from the London hub.
Marshall Products said it "regretfully" decided not to attend the conference in Porto after failing to secure alternative travel arrangements at the last minute.
Before the ERC Congress, which ran between December 2nd and 4th, the organisers said they were expecting more than 2,000 healthcare professionals from around Europe to attend.
Exhibitors included Elsevier, Schiller, Intersurgical, Pyrescom, Verathon Medical and Gaymar Industries.
