Martindale Pharma expands Asia-Pacific business via new distribution deal
Martindale Pharma has bolstered its capabilities in Asia-Pacific with the appointment of AFT Pharmaceuticals as its distribution partner for several key markets.
The new partner will be responsible for the registration, distribution, promotion and marketing of certain Martindale Pharma products in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, all of which have been identified as rapidly-growing markets.
Malaysia's pharmaceutical market has shown a recent growth rate of 11 percent per annum, with healthcare identified as a key economic area for 2020. Meanwhile, Singapore's healthcare system was ranked sixth worldwide by the World Health Organization, with spending in this area accounting for six percent of its GDP.
Mike Harris, chief executive officer of Martindale Pharma, said: "The demand for critical care and hospital specialty products in these markets is growing rapidly. Martindale Pharma's strategy is to partner with companies that have a strong presence in key international markets."
This comes after the firm appointed NiiX Holdings as its distribution partner in Sri Lanka in March. It also hired Eric Vick as its new group director for international sales earlier in the year.
