Mast highlights success of Mast Uri’s UK launch

Mast has underlined the positive impact its Mast Uri urine analysis system has had since being introduced in the UK in September 2011.

As the company prepares to launch the device in international territories, the firm states that it has seen a "fantastic response" from British users thus far, thanks to its ease of use, quick operation and rapid detection of urine pathogens.

The Mast Uri System incorporates the Mast Uri Plus analyser, Mast Uri Well dispensing aid, Mast Uri Plates and the Mast Uri Dot inoculator, allowing 95 percent of urine samples to be processed in 24 hours, including an antibiotic susceptibility result and organism identification.

A validation by St Thomas Hospital in London demonstrated its ability to reduce turnaround times and shorten processing procedures, while reducing cost savings of biohazardous waste disposal and maximising workloads.

The company has demonstrated the benefits of the Mast Uri system at events such as the recent Institute of Biomedical Science Congress in Birmingham.

It will soon be showcasing the device in London at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the end of March 2012.
