Mawdsleys and AAH chosen among exclusive Nutricia distributers

Mawdsleys and AAH have been named among four companies that are to become the exclusive distributors of Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition products in the UK.

The two firms will be joined by Alliance Healthcare and Phoenix Healthcare to make up Nutricia's newly streamlined wholesaler network as of April 4th 2011.

This will give the firms distribution rights to a wide range of medical nutrition products for various patient groups, including brands such as Alicalm, Flocare, KetoCal and Tentrini.

Under the new arrangements, the four wholesalers will be responsible for supplying hospitals, community pharmacies and dispensing doctors with products, as well as fulfilling special orders.

Meanwhile, Nutricia will continue to offer a direct supply to certain customers, including homecare patients.

The firm said in a statement: "The selection of the four chosen distribution partners followed a robust and extensive tender process and Nutricia is now working closely with its partners to ensure a smooth transition to the new arrangements."
