Mawdsleys and DE Group to adopt specialised approach to wholesale

Mawdsleys and DE Group are to refocus their wholesale activities following a joint strategic review of their respective strategies.

The review concluded that customer interests and the future prospects of both organisations would benefit if they each agree to concentrate on the sectors in which they are able to offer the greatest specific market expertise.

As such, Mawdsleys will be focusing in future on its market-leading hospital wholesale business, while DE Group will dedicate itself to supporting independent community pharmacies with its twice-daily delivery service.

This agreement will result in Mawdsleys' full-line retail wholesale business being acquired and integrated into the DE Group infrastructure from April 1st.

A statement from the companies said: "Mawdsleys and the DE Group believe this strategic collaboration will be a positive move to secure the future interests of both companies, provide opportunities for our staff, and an improved service platform for both the Independent community pharmacy and hospital sectors."
