Medtronic launches new Endurant IIs stent graft

13th November 2014

Medtronic has expanded its Endurant medical device range with the launch of its new Endurant IIs AAA stent graft in the US and Europe.

The device has been approved in both regions for use in the minimally invasive treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms and is designed to work in conjunction with the existing Endurant AAA stent graft system.

This new bifurcated component leverages the proven design of the predicate device and expands the system's anatomical customisation options. It is optimised for use as part of a three-piece configuration.

Since they were first introduced in Europe in 2008, the Endurant family of products have been used to treat more than 160,000 patients worldwide.

Dr William Jordan, a professor of surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, said: "The Endurant stent graft system sets the standard for configuration possibilities, and the addition of the Endurant IIs stent graft expands the possibilities even further."

This comes after the firm announced the European CE Mark approval and international launch of its new Resolute Onyx drug-eluting stent earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801760119-ADNFCR
