Medtronic to demonstrate medical devices at conference
Medtronic is to showcase a number of its devices for cardiovascular health applications at the EuroPCR medical meeting in Paris this week.
The company will be presenting data demonstrating the potential advantages of its IN.PACT range of coronary and peripheral drug-eluting balloons, which includes the Admiral, Amphirion and Falcon models.
Other devices which will be showcased by Medtronic include its Resolute coronary drug-eluting stent, the CoreValve transcatheter aortic valve replacement device and the Mo.Ma proximal embolic protection system.
Scott Ward, senior vice-president of Medtronic and president of the company’s cardiovascular business, stated that these innovations underline its position as the only firm with expertise in “coronary and peripheral interventions as well as cardiac and vascular surgery”.
He added: “We are uniquely positioned to work together with medical professionals across disciplines ? to advance the treatment of cardiovascular disease.”
Last week, the firm presented clinical trial data for its Arctic Front Cardiac CryoAblation catheter system, demonstrating its efficacy in treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
