Merck Millipore and Ventria announce supply and marketing deal

Merck Millipore and Ventria Bioscience have announced an exclusive supply and marketing agreement that will allow Merck Millipore to expand its CellPrime range.

Under the terms of the new deal, Ventria will use its ExpressTec biomanufacturing technology to create a recombinant product for use as a raw material in cyclic guanosine monophosphate biopharmaceutical production.

It will be exclusively marketed and distributed by Merck Millipore globally as part of the CellPrime line of non-animal origin products, thus creating a wider variety of product solutions for the biomanufacturing industry.

The alliance will combine the benefits of Ventria's innovative technology with Merck Millipore's industry expertise and established customer relationships.

Morgan Norris, head of biopharmaceutical materials and technologies at Merck Millipore, said: "Ventria's ExpressTec biomanufacturing system provides the leading non-animal origin and highly efficient source of recombinant products derived from plants."

Earlier this month, the company announced the launch of its latest multiple purpose laboratory equipment offering, the Mobius CellReady 50 L single-use stirred tank bioreactor.
