Merck Millipore launches Samplicity Filtration System

22nd March 2011

Merck Millipore has announced the launch of a new high-throughput sample preparation system that makes it easier and less time-consuming to conduct chromatography studies.

The Samplicity Filtration System allows up to eight chromatography samples to be vacuum-filtered at the same time in a matter of seconds, regardless of their level of viscosity and particulate content.

These can then be transferred directly into liquid chromatography vials using a pipettor, offering a convenient alternative to syringe-tip filters.

According to the manufacturer, the system helps to eliminate the stress and delays associated with repetitive manual preparation techniques, while its low extractables, analyte binding properties and hold-up volume allow small samples to be processed.

John Sweeney, head of Merck Millipore's life science business area, said: "The Samplicity system provides relief from the repetition of manual filtration and offers a throughput capacity well-aligned with the needs of most labs."

Earlier this month, the science firm launched the Elix Gulfstream Clinical system, which is designed to purify water for use in biomedical labs.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800471775-ADNFCR
