Merck Millipore to host third annual Pharma Forum

Merck Millipore is to discuss issues affecting the pharmaceutical raw materials industry at its forthcoming Merck Millipore Pharma Forum this June.

The third annual event will be held at the Merck KGaA headquarters in Germany and will be attended by industry experts and manufacturers, providing an opportunity for sector stakeholders to exchange views and expertise.

Discussion topics will include the recent launch of the EXCiPACT excipients certification program and liability issues surrounding deficient pharmaceutical raw materials.

Merck Millipore will also present data from a recently conducted study on leachables and extractables.

Dr Matthias Bucerius, head of pharma raw materials at Merck Millipore, said: "This event will allow manufacturing and pharmaceutical professionals to learn about the latest regulatory and quality assurance issues facing the pharmaceutical raw materials market today."

Last month, the company announced an alliance with Ventria Bioscience to jointly develop a new recombinant product for use in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
