Merck reveals international team of development scientists
Merck Chemicals has announced that an international interdisciplinary team of assay development scientists has been set up.
The Novagen Widescreen group will introduce the next generation of multiplex immunoassays.
After extensive research and development, the first wave of unique assay panels created by the group are available for the bead-based Luminex xMAP technology platform.
"The group has focused on creating assays that detect the phosphorylation status of key proteins in disease-related signalling pathways," the company said in a statement.
It added: "These assays will enable researchers to determine the effect of candidate compounds on multiple pathways, to allow a better understanding of on and off-target effects."
Merck Chemicals and EMD Biosciences are research agents for the life science chemicals division of Merck KGaA, which was founded in 1688 in Darmstadt and now employs more than 29,000 in 53 countries.
