Merck Sharp and Dohme to present Keytruda data at ESMO 2016
Merck Sharp and Dohme will be presenting clinical data from two studies of its cancer drug Keytruda at the 2016 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress in Copenhagen.
The company will attend the conference from October 7th to 11th, where it will share findings from 30 studies spanning 12 cancers from its industry-leading clinical development programme for Keytruda, both as a monotherapy and a combination therapy.
In particular, two studies showcasing the drug's benefits in the first-line treatment of advanced lung cancer have been selected for presentation at the Presidential Symposium on October 9th.
These are KEYNOTE-024, which studied Keytruda as a monotherapy compared to chemotherapy in patients whose tumours express high levels of PD-L1, and KEYNOTE-021G, which assessed the drug plus chemotherapy compared to chemotherapy alone in patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Additionally, updated overall survival data will be shared from the phase II/III KEYNOTE-010 trial, which studied previously treated patients with advanced NSCLC whose tumours express PD-L1.
Further combination data will also be presented from the phase Ib KEYNOTE-098 expansion cohort study, investigating Keytruda in combination with the VEGF receptor 2 antagonist ramucirumab as part of a collaboration between Lilly and Merck.
