Merck to add products to Elsevier’s Reaxys chemistry database

Merck has announced a collaboration with analytics company Elsevier that will see Merck's  products added to Reaxys, Elsevier's chemistry database.

Through this agreement, researchers and chemists who use Reaxys will be able to access an additional 43,000 Merck life science compounds and chemicals, with data provided directly from the supplier.

This means users will have immediate access to Merck's product availability, allowing those working in pharmaceutical drug discovery, chemical research and other areas to take advantage of a more efficient purchasing process.

Customers can also quickly compare the cost of purchasing a compound against producing it internally, meaning they will be able to make better and timelier decisions about the use of resources.

Reaxys includes data on 105 million organic, inorganic and organometallic compounds, 42 million chemical reactions, 500 million published experimental facts, 16,000 chemistry related periodicals and six indexing sources in total.
