Mettler Toledo launches ‘ideal solution’ for cosmetic labs

Mettler Toledo has introduced a "quantum-jump" in weighing technology.

According to the company, its XS analytical balance uses innovative technology to accelerate the weighing process, leading to "substantially reduced stabilisation time" and more accurate results.

"The weighing of precious raw materials such as colorants, perfume oils, active ingredients and preservative agents are core analytical and quality assurance activities within the laboratories of cosmetics companies," commented a spokesperson for Mettler Toledo.

SmartGrid technology, used by the manufacturer in the new XS analytical balance, is said to offer "practically no air turbulence" in the weighing chamber.

Fixed on the rear of the weighing chamber, it creates a completely clear area underneath without "awkward to clean" cavities, so that any samples spilled inside simply fall through the grid and onto the tray underneath where they can be cleaned up easily.

"The hanging grid pan and draft shield of the XS, which can be completely dismantled, make cleaning the balance far easier now," concluded the firm’s representative.

Mettler Toledo recently unveiled a new graphical programming environment which allows users to customise applications in an "intuitive" way.
