Mettler-Toledo releases thermosets handbook

Mettler-Toledo has released a handbook on thermosets applications which offers insight into thermal analysis and practical examples, the company has announced.

Described as "an important addition to the widely accepted collected applications series", the handbook is published in two volumes, the first presenting an overview of the range of thermal analysis techniques which are used with thermosetting materials, plus an introduction to the applications and chemistry of thermosetting resins.

The second volume is concerned with the results from over ten different kinds of resin systems – including polyesters, epoxies, formaldehyde resins and polyurethanes – and gives practical examples.

Sample measurements use a number of techniques, Mettler-Toledo explained in a statement, such as thermogravimetric analysis, thermomechanical analysis, dynamic mechanical analysis and differential scanning calorimetry.
