Mettler Toledo sales ‘exceed expectations’
Mettler Toledo has reported sales growth of a fifth for the year’s second quarter.
The firm’s representatives revealed net earnings increased 29 per cent over the same period last year.
"We saw continued solid demand in our markets in the quarter," remarked Olivier Filliol, president and chief executive officer of the global manufacturer of scales and expert analytical equipment.
"Our excellent local currency sales growth was broad-based and exceeded our expectations," he continued.
Mr Filliol attributed the positive financial results to the organisation’s strong presence in emerging markets, "state-of-the-art product offering" and innovative sales and marketing measures.
"Based on this performance, we are raising our guidance for the full year," concluded the president.
"While we enjoy continued momentum, we remain ready to adjust our expense growth should conditions in our markets weaken."
In its recent white paper entitled ‘Moving Air’, Mettler Toledo advised warehouse operators that they could profit from dimensioning technology by aligning their efficiency with the transport and distribution sector.
Noting that the cost of goods was previously solely calculated by weight, the company suggested accounting for volume when considering packages, services and shipping costs.
